Rick has spent his entire professional career of over 25 years helping employees to pursue their retirement goals. He has done this by working with employers to help them to optimize their retirement plan and offering the financial education to their employees. These steps can help his clients’ employees work towards saving sufficiently for retirement.
With 30+ years in the retirement plan world and close to 100 corporate clients in Northern California and New England (part of WIA’s more than 1,600 national clients), Rick has the experience necessary to help guide his clients through the maze of regulatory compliance and best practice decisions.
In 2010, Rick’s efforts at supporting his clients was recognized by PLANSPONSOR® Magazine as they named him their ‘Retirement Advisor of the Year.’*
Prior to founding Northgate Retirement Group in 2006 (which merged into Pensionmark in 2012), Rick was the Vice President of Northern California for Principal Financial and was responsible for sales, marketing, and administrative services for their 1,200+ retirement plan clients. The clients, both “for profit” and “not for profit” ranged in sizes from $1 million in plan assets to hundreds of millions of dollars.
Rick graduated from Rollins College with a degree in Economics and has an MBA from Babson College. He is an Investment Advisor Representative and holds Series 6, 7, 26, 63 and 66 registrations.
Rick and his wife of over 25 years are bi-coastal between Marin County and Cape Cod with their adult daughter and son.
When he is not working with clients, Rick enjoys working out as a ‘Crossfit’ disciple and playing golf with friends and pickle ball with his wife. He has served on the finance committee of his golf club for many years and also coached his daughter’s school basketball team.

Veronica is a Director of Client Relations and Education Specialist for WIA. Ms. Taylor holds her Series 7 registration and C(k)P. In 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2022 she was recognized by NAPA (National Association of Retirement Plan Advisors) as one of the nation’s top women Advisors. She was also recognized as WIA’s Top Relationship Manager in 2017. Veronica holds her Series 7 and is pursuing her Series 65 and CIMA certifications.
Veronica joined the team in 2010 after graduating from Sonoma State University with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Global Studies with an emphasis in International Economic Development. As a student of SSU, she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, sat on the board of Alliance for the Study of Genocide, and spent a year abroad at the University of Heidelberg studying Political Economy.
Veronica lives in Oakland, California with her husband their young son, their dog Charlie, and three cats Sasha, Billie and Tre. She has two life goals, the first to visit every country in the world and the second to visit every major league ballpark. Veronica and her husband are avid Oakland A’s fans. In her free time she enjoys hiking in the redwood forests, indoor cycling and expanding her culinary skills as an ammature home chef.
The National Association of Plan Advisors, a branch of the American Retirement Association, has put out a list of women advisors who are making significant contributions to a male-dominated profession. The list includes 3 categories of advisors, all chosen based on qualitative and quantitative responses related to their retirement plan practice and their experience throughout their career in the industry.
The three categories include:
Captains: All-stars who happen to be principals, owners, or team captains of their organizations.
All-Stars: Top producers who have their own practice.
Rising Stars: Top producers who have less than five years of experience with retirement plans as a Financial Advisor (some have been working with plans longer, but not as a plan advisor).
Ms. Walker joined the Pensionmark San Francisco office in 2015, bringing over 14 years of experience in the financial services industry to the team. With a background in Client Services, one of her top priorities is giving a positive client experience.
As the Branch Operations Manager she attends to all facets of day-to-day operations. In addition, Ms. Walker performs reviews of the plans’ fund lineups and assists with preparation for Plan reviews and Employee Education meetings.
Jani resides in Petaluma with her husband Craig, as well as two dogs Reno and Roxy. She is fortunate to have her two grown children living reasonably nearby. Jani has volunteered for several local non-profit organizations, and likes to spend her spare time reading, trying new recipes, watching sports, and enjoying California’s beautiful wine country.
Ms. Walker graduated from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. She currently holds her Series 7 and is pursuing Series 66 registration.
